A chance to work with Mary Gamester and discover the magic of printing on fabric ready for stitching.
This first workshop of the ‘Printing to Stitch’ series offers
you the opportunity of printing colourful leaves and flowers to create a beautiful flower garden complete with peacock.
You will learn simple techniques to transfer paints on paper, then heat transfer to fabric ready to quilt with embroidery stitches and to embellish with beads and sequins for extra sparkle.
You will be amazed at the results, and as the series progresses these quilted pictures can be combined to become a cushion cover or wall hanging.
Basic sewing skills are expected and you will need to bring a sewing kit, and if you have them, please bring some stranded sewing threads, small beads and sequins.
Mary will provide all the specialist materials – cost £3.00 payable to her on the day.
These materials are also available in the Workaid shop, which is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10.00 till 4.00
