Ringing in the New Year at Levozy Self Help in Nairobi, Kenya

Workaid was delighted to hear that one of its projects, Levozy Self Help Group, recently received a consignment of tools and equipment for their vocational training centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The goods were warmly welcomed by members of the board as well as students, who eagerly offloaded items and transported them to their project site. Writing to Workaid, Kanuti Mukhabi, who is the Chairman and Director, enthused that 120 students are to benefit from the donation of the tools and equipment. He added that training in various skills is due to commence in January 2018. Students will engage in training of various skills, including knitting, carpentry, mechanics and welding. The ultimate goal of the project is to see the young people of Dagoretti sub-county of Nairobi acquire the necessary skills to provide a trade within the community and improve their livelihoods. This is a goal that is mutually shared with us here at Workaid, and we look forward to hearing from them in the next few months, and sharing in the pride of their students’ progress!

If you have any tools and equipment that are in good working condition and that you no longer use, why not Donate Tools to us to support our work in Africa?
