Meddy, CEO of AFFCAD in Uganda Visits Workaid

It was a pleasure to have another visit this month from Meddy (Mohammed Kisirisa), CEO and co-founder of AFFCAD in Uganda.

His energy and enthusiasm shine through his work in the slum area of Bwaise. He’s a real inspiration to us all. Not only is he a recipient of the Young Achievers Award, presented by the President of Uganda, but in 2013 he was the first African to be awarded the Mohammed Ali Humanitarian Award.

Meddy spent the day at Workaid and helped out by working alongside volunteers to gain a better understanding of our operation in the UK. During tea breaks he had an opportunity to talk to volunteers, explaining how Workaid’s tools have helped and about the background to his work.

You can watch a Video Clip of AFFCAD’s success in Meddy’s own words while he was with us in Chesham.  His infectious, cheeky smile at the end of the clip is typical of him!

We’re proud to be helping dynamic projects like this by sending tools and equipment to allow students to learn new skills and better their  lifes.

If you’re interested, do read the report of his previous visit to Workaid in January and take a look at AFFCAD video from 2017.
