Arctic Challenge

Julie Bowler is back from her Arctic Challenge in aid of Workaid and has been reunited with her regular Thursday morning slot in sewing machines at our Head Office in Chesham.

Julie and her husband, Martin completed Greenland’s “The Arctic Circle Trail” this summer raising over £1,000 through their efforts. This involved hiking 124 miles with twenty-kilo rucksacks on their backs, as they had to carry all their supplies and camping equipment for the entire ten days.

Julie said;

“Martin and I have been training for two years which took a lot of commitment at times. We only met 15 people during the entire 10 days but they were from all over the world. It was definitely an experience of a lifetime!”

How can you help

We don’t expect everybody to go to the lengths that Julie went to! Instead, why not join our Workaid friends by signing up to make a monthly contribution, for as little as £5 per month per year will enable us to send a sewing machine, and two haberdashery kits and cover the cost of shipping to a vocational training centre in Africa.

If you would like to get involved then why not Volunteer and or Donate and help make a difference.
