As usual, there’s plenty going on at Workaid to keep everyone happy with our sales. Wonderful volunteers are giving up their Saturdays to help make them successful. Please show your support by visiting our stalls, have a chat, join in with these community events and bring the family too!
On Saturday, 23rd September there are two sales stands to keep you busy:
The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust at College Lake, Tring for My Wild Chilterns from 10am – 4pm. Workaid will be manning a stall selling gardening tools and we’ll be encouraging children to have a go at French Knitting using old fashioned wooden cotton reels. Where else can you do that on a Saturday in beautiful surroundings?
On the same day Workaid will also be taking part in the Eton Action Community Fair at Eton College from 11am – 4pm. The Fair is in its 43rd year and raises thousands of £s for good causes. Last year was a resounding success for Workaid’s stall. Once more we hope to enjoy ourselves in a wonderfully friendly atmosphere, while raising money to send more tools and equipment to our projects with our sales items. There’ll be everything from collectable tins, typewriters, tools and treadles to vintage haberdashery and crafty items.
Then it’s only another couple of weeks until the October Forecourt Sale outside Workaid in Townsend Road, Chesham on Saturday 7th October. As usual we can promise that there’ll be something for everyone. We’ll be turning out our darkest corners to put on sale an amazing display of interesting tools and goodies. We open at 10am and close at 2pm, but the Workaid Shop will continue to be open until 4pm as usual.
On Saturday, 4th November The Hive at Workaid (our large, newly refurbished downstairs room) will be opening its doors to our first specialist Crafts, Haberdashery and Textiles Sale from 10am. Further details to follow. No matter what the weather you’ll be assured of a warm welcome with plenty of interesting bits and bobs to look through and buy. Antique, vintage, retro and new, we’ll have it all!
And finally, some advance notice of the Crafts Open Day at Workaid on Saturday, 2nd December. See the poster above; more details in Resources (see the November & December Crafts Programme).
