At Workaid we are very pleased to be able to help a varied group of organisations and on this occasion, we were able to help Sunnyside Rural Trust by supplying them with horticultural tools and equipment.

The Trust is based on three sites, in Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and Northchurch. Sunnyside Rural Trust works with over 125 adults with learning disabilities offering them stimulating activities and support in order to enhance their personal development and improve their quality of life.

The Trust provides work skills and grows fruit, vegetables, plants and makes other products to sell to the public in their farm shops in order to raise funds to support the organisations. Sunnyside Rural Trust is also home to over 300 chickens!

They carry out external gardening work in the local community and the plants you see on the roundabouts and the walled gardens in and around Dacorum are grown by the participants.
