After 35 years as a primary school teacher, I took up my love of textiles and completed my City & Guilds in Patchwork and Quilting and in Machine Embroidery.
I love patchwork and quilting and use various techniques to create many different effects that can be used to decorate bags, garments and book covers. I enjoy designing and making wall hangings inspired by poetry, my extensive travels, beautiful gardens and architecture, and I have most recently developed a love and enthusiasm for working with transfer paints to produce very painterly surfaces that can then be embellished with quilting and embroidery.
My passion for textiles has evolved to include writing on the subject, giving talks to specialist groups, filming for DVDs and running workshops throughout the country – couldn’t give up teaching forever!.
I have exhibited in most of the nationally acclaimed quilt shows and regularly take part in Bucks Art Weeks.
