Expanded Training Courses Progress
Vision People’s in Mission (VPM) based in Korogocho in Kenya, has expanded its range of training courses to now include tailoring, knitting, dressmaking and embroidery for young girls in the community.
Typically once obtaining their national accreditation graduates usually either secure employment in the textile industry or establish their own businesses. Getting them started is made possible by VPM’s free loaned sewing machine scheme and support finding sponsorship. An income source not only allows a family to provide for their basic needs but also allows the next generation to stay in school and reach their full potential.
Our last donation to VPM was in August 2020 of 19 sewing machines, which despite the disruptions caused by Covid-19 when conditions permitted trainees were still able to resume their training.
