Since John Fox’s sad death a year ago, Rob Levine has been both Chairman and acting as General Manager. At an extra meeting of the Trustees on 14th September Rob submitted his resignation as Chairman in light of the governance and practical challenges of doing both roles. As Vice Chairman, Keith Irvine duly stepped up to Chairman, with this appointment subject to approval at the next AGM in 2018. The Trustees are pleased to say that Rob has agreed to stay on as General Manager on a part-time basis, in which role he will continue to be ably supported by the others in the team.
On behalf of the Trustees, Keith expressed his thanks to Rob for the excellent guidance he has provided as Chairman and for building an effective Trustee team with the broad experience to deal with the wide range of issues arising at Workaid.
Rob said “I am delighted with this development and look forward to continuing to work with Keith and the Trustees, as well as the great team of volunteers and employees we have, to help Workaid continue to go from strength to strength. After a career working in the city, and even after nine years association with Workaid already, it’s still uplifting every day to be coming in to a place which does good in so many ways.”
One other change on the Trustee body is that sadly Jane Bucknall has stepped down so that she can devote more time to family matters. We wish her all the best, and thank her for her considerable input to Workaid as both a volunteer, employee and Trustee.
