Retail Supervisor – Chesham – £20,000+
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to develop our International Development Charity’s retail activity. We already generate £100k per annum from our charity shop (which only opens three days a week) and outside events but we are just scratching the surface! The potential is immense for the right person to really make their mark and demonstrate their talents.
We are Workaid and we are based in Chesham. We refurbish tools and equipment and send to several African countries to support local development projects. These projects provide disadvantaged people with the skills and tools to enable them to escape poverty.
At the forefront of our retail operation is the Workaid Shop. This is a charity shop with a difference, specialising in tools, gardening equipment and haberdashery. The role of Retail Supervisor is full time, 35 hours, including some Saturdays. We are also willing to consider job share for the right candidates.
You would also manage and be responsible for all Forecourt and Craft Sales, expand and develop the retail shop, extend opening hours and research and develop new retail opportunities.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a respected and highly successful international development charity.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of retail management at supervisory level with good administrative and organisational skills and ability to handle money, keep records and organise workloads
- Ability to recognise stock potential in order to generate income
- Ability to work as part of an effective team to motivate the team
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to think on your feet
It’s varied work, acting as an ambassador for Workaid and promoting our work. If you have a flair for retail, a real passion to work for a charity and are positive and motivated, we want to hear from you!
