Retail Volunteers
Upendo Smiths Group is a group of blacksmiths located in Geita, a region in Tanzania that has significant small- and large-scale mining taking place, particularly for gold.
Initially, they purchased tools and equipment from Kalwande and as a result, they are now able to make tools, mainly pick axes, and other manual digging tools for the local miners.
Additionally, Tools For Self Reliance Cymru (TFSR Cymru) commission them to fabricate a full range of Fair Trade tools. These are sold in the UK by TFSR Cymru to generate an income for both.
