Urgent Appeal – Zambia What is happening? Unfortunately, our partner in Zambia – the Vwila Foundation – has been given notice to vacate their office
Workaid along with the Vwila Foundation, have worked with the Tasintha Programme, Zambia for over five years.
Workaid has worked with the Vwila Foundation to provide much needed vocational training to schools in the rural Mumbwa district of Zambia.
Container Peter 1996, named after Penny (a volunteer) has left for Zambia filled with over 800 boxes of tools and kits.
In tribute to his wonderful wife of 27 years, who recently passed away, Norman has named our next container Joyce.
Deborah’s father passed away when she was a baby, as did her mother a few years later. She was raised by her aunty who she refers to as her mother.
Roy is a Zimbabwean national who operates a small sewing machine repair shop in Lusaka, Zambia with two other technicians.
David, age 20, graduated from Bulungu secondary school in late 2022. The school is one of 35 Workaid has helped in Zambia over the past three years in partnership with the Vwila Foundation.
Bertha and Winnie are two of the teachers who took part in intensive sewing machine repair and maintenance training funded by Workaid in Kabwe, Zambia in 2024.
