Aziz, Albert Valley Institute of Vocational Studies
Aziz left school in 2018 and embarked on a unique journey of skills development and entrepreneurship. Initially engaged in casual work in his village, Aziz’s path took a more positive turn when he joined Albert Valley Institute of Vocational Studies (AVIVS), where he trained in both welding and tailoring. In June 2023, Aziz proudly graduated from Albert Valley, earning not just knowledge but also a sewing machine from Workaid to kickstart his entrepreneurial endeavours.
His tailoring business is doing well and making a small profit. What is impressive about Aziz is that even though he faces challenges, he’s helping others by teaching several apprentices. He is sharing his skills with others, making a positive impact within his community.
Aziz dreams of growing his business so he can be more independent and help his community grow. He believes that by expanding his business, he can bring positive changes to where he lives. His story is an amazing example of how learning new skills and starting a small business can help young people overcome challenges and build a brighter future.
