Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023
Help Equip Zambian Schools
Workaid will be participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023. We are aiming to reach £14k which will be DOUBLED to reach our target of £28k.
Donations open on Tuesday, November 28 at 12pm for one week, until 12pm on Tuesday 5 December. During this time any donation you make to us via the Big Give will be doubled.
Zambia has both high youth unemployment and a shortage of suitably skilled school graduates, the latter due to under-resourced schools with poorly equipped workshops. With our Zambian partner, Vwila Foundation, we have successfully facilitated the development of a vocational training infrastructure in six schools and provided each with a comprehensive package of refurbished tools. Enabling them to deliver vocational training in tailoring, building, metal working and carpentry to over 2,500 students this year.
Through the Big Give this Christmas, we aim to raise £28k to develop and equip four more schools, enabling them to transform thousands of young lives.
Thank you to everyone who donated
How The Big Give Works
This year our target is £28,000, which will enable us to expand vocational training in Zambian rural schools. we are delighted to confirm that we have secured champion funding and pledges which account for 50% of the total. We only receive these funds if we can match them through donations from supporters, such as yourself. Help us meet our target and empower young people to escape poverty and build a sustainable livelihood.
