We’re thrilled this month to welcome our first refugee volunteer to our tools refurbishment section. Hussam, a stone mason by trade moved to the UK with his wife and four children from Syria earlier this year.

Although there is a small language barrier at the moment, he’s eager to learn English and takes lessons with his family. To make sure he understood everything through his induction and tour we had the help of a trusty smartphone app that provides a free live translator.

It’s a privilege to have Hussam on board, and his bright smile and sheer enthusiasm are contagious.
